Hades Theme

Hades is one of the best WordPress magazine-style themes I've come across in a while! It is a beautifully-designed yet minimalistic WordPress theme with a slider (2 different styles of sliders actually) as well as a responsive design, that offers much in the way of customization and flexibility.

The theme is geared towards a variety of different kinds of blogs, and comes with a choice of two separate homepage layouts.

The first is a magazine-style layout, which arranges the content on your homepage according to different categories on your website, which each category having it's own 'box' – a classic magazine-style layout. Hades pulls this off magnificently, and as you can see in the demo of the theme (click the 'Demo' button above for a preview), the homepage looks brilliant!

The second homepage layout style is your classic 'blog-style' layout, which arranges the posts on your homepage one after the other in a chronological order – your classic blog-style layout.

The theme also comes with an excellent slider that sits on top of your homepage and is highly customizable. You can choose from two different slider styles, choose which posts or categories appear in the slider, or turn it off if you want.

Thanks to the built-in color-picker that comes with the Hades WordPress theme, you virtually have access to an unlimited palette of skin colors to choose from. Personally, I quite like the default white that the theme comes with by default, however you can pick and choose whatever you want.

Along with the color picker, you can also use the theme's control panel to easily add a background image to your website.

A word about Hades theme's control panel, it's very well designed, very user-friendly and easy to use, and allows people completely unfamiliar with code an outstanding and simple way to customize their theme, thanks to just a few clicks of the mouse button.

One of the theme's forte has to be the 'Breaking News' slider that it comes with. This sleek slider sits on top of the theme, and is like a mini text-based slider that picks up certain or all of your posts (you choose which ones) and displays them on the top.

Hades WordPress theme also comes with as many as 9 custom widgets, including a custom category posts widget, a custom Facebook, Flickr and Twitter widgets, social counter widget, recent posts widget, and a custom menu widgets.

Related posts features comes integrated with Hades, so when someone opens up a post on your blog or website, all related posts are automatically displayed. This increased visitor-engagement levels on your blog as it encourages visitors stay on your blog longer and read more posts.

Another one of Hades theme's strengths, and something that I really liked, was it's ability to create unlimited sidebars – you can essentially create a separate sidebar for all your pages!

Hades is a very powerful, functional and a highly-customizable theme for WordPress blogs and websites!
